This app is a research prototype that teaches a persuasive writing strategy called POW TREE. The POW TREE strategy is evidence-based and has been shown to improve the writing outcomes for students who are typically developing and students with learning differences.
The POW TREE writing strategy is taught using video modelling. Each POW TREE step is scaffolded in the form of a writing wizard which gradually encourages the student to write more.
The app has been designed to help reduce the anxiety around writing persuasively by assisting students to achieve one step at a time.
